The Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) established in 1992, is an organization trusted for excellence and committed to support the Plantation Community to enhance their quality of life by providing sustainable development programmes through the Main Office in Colombo and its seven Regional Offices, in Badulla, Galle, Kandy, Kegalle, Hatton, Nuwara Eliya, & Ratnapura, invites self-motivated, dynamic candidates for the following position.

Community Development Officer (Kandy)

Job Profile:

The job involves mobilizing the beneficiary to actively participate in the various social development programmes set up on the plantations for the benefit of plantation workers community.

Qualifications:

A degree / Diploma in Sociology, Social Science or equivalent qualifications supported by not less than 05 years” experience in mobilizing, community development & active participation in social development programmes. Ability to converse in Sinhala & Tamil and experience in social development activities / social mobilization in the estate sector and exposure in community-based organization would be an advantageous.

Should reside in the region and visit the Estate

Ability to ride a Moto Cycle is an advantage

Age: preferably below 50 years

Salary: Negotiable

The selected candidate will be employed on renewable contract basis. An attractive remuneration package including medical scheme covering the family will be offered to the selected candidate.
