The government has announced that it has begun construction of 3,000 new houses for low-income earners.

The Ministry of Urban Development, Construction and Housing has announced that the construction of new houses will be completed before the end of this year.

These houses will be built for low-income families selected at the Grama Niladhari level across the island.

Deputy Minister of Housing D.P. Sarath said that public support will also be sought for this.
